Waterson Terminal Services, LLC (WTS) is the terminal manager and stevedore for ProvPort, a 115-acre marine cargo facility in the Port of Providence, RI. WTS also offers stevedoring service in the Ports of Davisville, RI and New Bedford, MA. We partner with the International Longshoreman's Association (ILA) to provide a highly skilled, union workforce specializing in marine cargo handling and port operations.
WTS and ProvPort hosted staging and preassembly activities for GE and Deepwater wind during the construction of the Block Island Windfarm in 2015-2016. WTS managed the offload of turbine towers and blades from import vessels as well as the loadout and sea-fastening of components to feeder vessels during the construction process. More recently, ProvPort and WTS welcomed Orsted and Eversource, who are constructing a new foundation component manufacturing facility in the port that will support their northeast project pipeline. WTS is well positioned in all 3 facilities to support the offshore wind supply chain, and we are actively working to develop additional port infrastructure, through expansion of ProvPort and the development of the South Quay Terminal in East Providence, RI.
