Quonset Business Park is one of the premier business parks in New England. Managed by the Quonset Development Corporation, it is home to over 200 companies, employing nearly 12,000 people in full-and part-time jobs across a variety of industries. The Port of Davisville at Quonset is one of the top ten auto importers in North America.
The Port of Davisville is Rhode Island’s premier public port and gateway to markets throughout Southern New England. Strategically located near the mouth of Narragansett Bay, Davisville offers four berths and five terminals with 58 acres of laydown and terminal storage. As off-shore wind projects begin to advance across the East Coast, Quonset, the Port of Davisville, and Narragansett Bay as a whole are uniquely positioned to have a major role in their development.
Quonset had a key role in the development of Deepwater Wind’s Block Island Project. Various pieces of the project arrived in Rhode Island at Quonset, including the steel jackets and more than 28 miles of cable. In addition, Quonset served as the principle port for the project’s heavy installation vessels over a two-year span and Quonset-based companies participated in every aspect of the project’s construction. Deepwater Wind also has its own worker and equipment facility on-site at Quonset. Also, the Atlantic Pioneer, the first U.S.-built crew transfer vessel (CTV) engineered specifically to service offshore wind projects is based at Quonset
